the
impact
As a HUD Approved Housing Counseling Agency, we know that the foreclosure and economic crisis has significantly increased homelessness and the number of families at risk of homelessness in cities and counties across the nation. We also know employment retention is crucial to the overall success of transitioning. For this reason we are committed to addressing the complex problems facing homeless veterans by providing customer service and technological skills job training to help them improve their social and economic status. In an effort to effectively serve this special veteran population we are specifically targeting homeless veterans who’s needs are not being met, because their homelessness presents unique challenges and potential obstacles to obtaining the same legal rights as all veterans to employment assistance. In addition, we will continue to work with program participants and employers during post placement with long-term follow up services, which are necessary to retain employment, and reduce the likelihood of homelessness concerning Veterans and their families.
